I do not have a fetish for phones

I was flattered to find that I had been linked to by the 3-sponsored 3mobilebuzz.com concerning my review of the Skypephone a few days ago. The graph on the stats dashboard is curving steeply upwards at the edge.

However, I’m interested as to what the pingback reads: here is an excerpt from it.

From the happy moment Jonathan of Crashed Pips was proffered an extra penny upon purchasing his 3 Skypephone, to the second he finished penning his insightful critique of the device – it has been something of a rollercoaster ride for his relationship with the phone.

Happy moment of being proffered an extra penny? I don’t recall feeling ecstatic after leaving the shop. And a rollercoaster ride for the relationship with the phone? Somewhat exaggerated. In fact, it makes it sound more like a soap opera.

The worst thing is that it makes it sound like I’m having a sexual affair with the phone. Which I’m not. I carry it in my pocket and use it to make calls. Which many people do with phones. And is, I believe, the expected behaviour with them.

I was also amused by Confucius being quoted as saying “better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without”. Nah, I’d take the diamond and find a perfect pebble somewhere on the South Coast.

    Ah Jonathan -

So sorry there. Do excuse my language. I must have had a few too many coffees that morning, and was slightly overindulgent in my choice of words. I don’t ever recall intoning fetishes, ecstasy or sexual practices of any kind though? I must be a far fruitier blogger than I had ever imagined!

Good luck with your perfect pebble hunt by the way – and thank you for your kind words.

    Take Care

Thank you very much. It’s not a problem at all – I just found it quite amusing.
