Firefox 3

I’m typing this with Firefox 3, in wonderful WYSIWYG. Since WordPress’s version of TinyMCE doesn’t work with Safari (although not for much longer) I decided to try the beta version of Firefox 3.

The first and most obvious difference is that it has actually been natively designed for Mac OS X this time around. It ties in with the Aqua look, and it almost looks as good as Safari. I’d have liked an Aquafied fox/globe icon, but never mind that: it’s not ugly, which is nice.

It is slower than Safari, but not crawlingly slow, like the previous version. It also includes smart bookmarks, a new places bar, and the new bookmarking system (originally pencilled in for Fx2 but pushed back). This is a major improvement.

I believe it’s too early to make a complete judgement yet, but from my point of view Fx3 looks very promising.
