Unbelated birthdays

As I’ll probably forget all about it by March the 19th, and can’t be bothered to forward-date this post, I am taking this opportunity to highlight the fact that Crashed Pips, in its present form, will be celebrating its first birthday in just over a fortnight!

The blog did exist before the 19th of March, 2007, but at previous web sites and blog services – most of which delete inactive blogs, so pinning down Crashed Pips‘s exact date of inception is nigh on impossible. However, the first post made on this blog using WordPress (then hosted at WordPress.com) was made at just before midday GMT on that date. In fact, you can see it in situe over here.

Over the months, the quality of my writing has improved, the theme has changed countless times (before settling into the current arrangement), the code has been tweaked with many times and (I can EXCLUSIVELY reveal) over 1300 spam comments have been posted. And that’s just since we moved to our own dedicated domain, which we still sit at today.

So, with the only debate left being whether or not to cook the Crashed Pips first birthday fairy cake in the microwave on 1000 or 850 watts, all that is left for me to do is thank all of my readers and commenters, for helping to make this blog the minor success that it is.
