Virgin Media are now hijacking 404 errors

If you’re on Virgin Media, try going to a nonsense URL. And see what happens.

Virgin Media calls this their “advanced web search”, and while at the moment it seems somewhat benign, I can’t help but worry this could be being used to gain revenue from 404 errors. Mercifully, it’s easy enough to opt out. At the moment.

I’m not convinced it’s such a bad thing to have it for less experienced users. As you say, it’s easy enough to opt out, and what’s wrong with them making a little money?

Because of instead of making even more money they should concentrate on improving their shitty service. I’d say priority number one instead of cash cash cash
